Turn Off the TV and Be Intimate!

This post is a major part of the More and Better Sex in 2017 initiative. You can’t have a good solid relationship with your wife if you don’t spend enough time with her. And when I say spend time with her I don’t mean being in the same room, or driving silently in the car together, or watching television or a movie together. I also don’t mean having sex!

A healthy relationship requires regular big blocks of time together. It doesn’t mean you have to be talking deeply the whole time, but most of your activities during this time need to allow for conversation. Some games fit that, many do not. (Generally, first person shooter games don’t – sorry!) Working on a project around the house or yard may be a good option, it depends on how well you work together.

My suggestion is you find two hours two days a week to spend time with your wife. This is two separate blocks of two hours, not 48 minutes five days a week and not eight hours every other Saturday. How you package the time matters.

As suggested by the title of this post, you may have to watch less television to make this happen. For many of us, television eats up more disposable time than anything else – or even everything else combined! If you want to give her the time she needs you may have to sacrifice a few TV shows. Is she worth it?
