Today, I want to deal with the lies and excuses we use to avoid dealing with porn. We tell ourselves these things because doing so makes us feel better about not ending our porn use.

It’s Not Really Wrong: I’ve had guys try to use the Bible to prove this. But they do so by taking things out of context and violating basic rules about interpreting scripture. Getting turned on by, or getting off to, women other than your wife is contrary to what God intended.
It’s A Victimless Act: I’m not going to tell you how the women who do porn are victims, became the reality today is that most of them are entirely willing. However, it hurts you. Many studies have shown men who look at porn regularly objectify women. And no, you’re not the exception. It hurts your wife, your marriage, and your sex life. It also hurts your walk with God.
It’s Okay Because I’m Not Lusting: Bull. We do porn because of the sexual arousal it provides. If it didn’t make you horny, you wouldn’t do it. And that arousal is proof of lust.
Yes, I’m being blunt and harsh here. But these things block freedom from porn, and they need to be attacked.
