Words have power. Proverbs 18:21 tells us that, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”
I see a lot of damage done in marriages by words. What I find especially sad is when confusion about the meaning of a word causes problems. I’ve seen couples fighting because they don’t define a word at all the same way, and usually they don’t even realise that’s the issue.
Just because you and your wife has a common vocabulary doesn’t mean you have a common language. Check your definitions often!
