Show Your Wife You Care on Valentine’s Day

So, Valentine’s is Wednesday. What are you doing to show your love for your wife?

Yes, it’s become way over-commercialised. Yes, it’s just another day. And yet, unless your wife is very unusual, she would like you to do SOMETHING to express your love on a day dedicated to expressing romantic love. Not doing that is playing Russian Roulette with five bullets!

Overly romantic image of a couple about to kiss on Valentine's Day.

For some of you, something small will do it. A card, a flower, or a box of chocolates. Some wives would really like a nice date. Given the day falls on Wednesday this year, you can easily go for the weekend after. A handwritten love letter is always a good choice. And coupons promising to do various things she enjoys is good too.

If you care about your wife, do something!

My wife actually is a little unusual in this regard but partly because of that commercialization thing you mentioned coupled with her wary eye on the budget. She even went so far as to schedule work on the day this year, I guess so that I wouldn’t get any ideas. I had to get pretty creative to get her things that she could enjoy before, on, and after the day without waking her inner budget bear 🐻. She even almost seemed appreciative so I figure that’s a win. I’d wanted to plan a date night for tonight but that didn’t work out so I’ll have to try tomorrow. Of course, that might mess up the budget… if you don’t hear from me again, you’ll know I probably overspent. 😂

One year, Paul suggested a Barber Shop Quartet. I just did that for the 3rd time in several years. Knocked it out of the park. AGAIN! 🙂 She feels so special with all the attention as they serenade in front of her Kindergarten class and peer teachers. Thanks for the many awesome Godly advice over the years, Paul.
