Another ChatGPT topic suggestion was Ways to Show Your Love and Affection for Your Wife.
That sounds good, but it seems to assume all women are the same. I’ve told you more than once to not give your wife appliances on gift giving days. I’ve also mentioned one of the best received gifts I’ve given my wife was a vacuum cleaner. My wife is an exception to that rule, and I knew it. I’ve told you your wife probably wants to talk more with you. But I work to not overwhelm my wife with my words. Again, she is an exception to a statement that is true for most wives. I’ve also given you sexual advice I don’t follow because my wife is not like most women there either.
Your wife may be close to average in most areas, but there are some places where she is not. And there are places where there is no average. Five love languages means what works well for one woman is far from the best for most women.
Showing your wife love requires you to know what makes her feel loved. Knowing her love language is a good start, but that’s not enough. If she likes gifts, does she like gifts of chocolate more or less than something she can put on her dresser? If she’s into touch, does that mean back rubs, snuggling, or sex?
The other issue is timing. Some things will be unwelcome in certain situations, and everything will have maximum impact in certain circumstances. If your wife is an introvert, there may be times when the best thing you can give her is solitude.
When you know who your wife is, ways to show her love and affection will flow easily from that. A list of suggestions is not a bad thing, but it’s going to be hit-and-miss, with more misses than hits. What’s more, if you try something at the wrong time, you might cross off something that would be a good thing most of the time.
The bottom line is there is no shortcut on this. Your wife is a unique individual, and the best way to show her love is based on that.
