I don’t talk a lot about my faith here. I think it’s evident in what I say, and I’m a big fan of showing rather than telling. But sometimes it’s good to tell.
When I say Jesus is my salvation, I don’t just mean that He has saved me from hell. That of course is a gift of unimaginable love and grace, and I love Him for it. But beyond that, Jesus has saved me from the world, and from myself. And while those are not as big as making a way for me with God, they have made my life so much better, and I love Him all the more for doing those things.

Saved Me From The World
If you have somehow not noticed, the world is a mess. And it seems to have gotten a lot worse the last few years. As much as I despair over what I see happening around me, I know I belong to another kingdom. I am a sojourner here, and that makes it so much easier to deal with the turmoil around me.
Saved Me From Myself
Almost fifty years of walking with the Lord has made me better, but I was and still am a mess. Without His help I doubt I’d still be married, and if I was, it would not be a happy marriage. When Lori and I got married, we were both sold out for Jesus, and that is how we got through all the rubbish that stood in our way of having a good marriage. Without Jesus, I’d be a very lonely man with few friends and a lot of porn. I am so glad He saved me from that!
What has Jesus saved you from? If not hell, you need to deal with that. But if hell is all you’ve let Him save you from, please know there is so much more!
Hat Tip to Dustin et al. for showing me I needed to do this post!

I agree with every factor that you have pointed out. Thank you for sharing your beautiful thoughts on this.
Ask and it will be given to you; look for and you will find; thump and the entryway will be opened to you. For each and every individual who asks gets; the person who looks for finds; and to the person who thumps, the entryway will be opened.
For each and every individual who magnifies himself will be lowered, and every individual who lowers himself will be commended.
