I was at a marriage seminar today. You will be hearing more about and from that in the next couple of weeks.
The speaker started by talking about cultural and church myths about marriage that hurt couples. The attendees had no problem coming up with examples of these myths.

Some of these myths have been repeated so many times that many folks think they are established facts. In truth, most of them are only valid for couples who were unwilling to do the hard work required to have a good, or better yet great, marriage. These myths keep some from getting married and keep some marriages mediocre. If you believe marriage is so-so at best, you won’t be motivated to work to make it something you’ve been told it can’t be.
Sure marriage is hard at times and, yes, your wife will be unloving from time to time. But if you both work at your marriage, it can be a fantastic thing. If you want a great marriage, forget about all the negative things people say and work to make your marriage better. If you’re stuck, get some professional marriage help to kick-start change.
