WWJD – 2022

Do you remember the What Would Jesus Do fad of the 1990s? I always thought “what would Jesus have me do” would be a better question, but WWJHMD didn’t make as catchy an acronym.

I think asking ourselves what Jesus would have us do should be the first question we ask any time we’re faced with a big choice or decision. I’d like to tell you I do that, but in truth, I usually only do it when the issue is major. I have tended to be better about asking that with regard to my marriage, which may well be a big part of why my marriage is so good and happy for both Lori and me.

If your marriage is stuck right now or you have an ongoing problem, I dare you to ask yourself what Jesus would have you do. It won’t do anything for your pride and it will make it impossible to justify some of what you have been doing, but it will make your marriage better.

I’ll have to work on this. My first thought when I ask myself that is of the seen with the money changers in the temple. Somehow I don’t think it is meant to give motivation to go in with a whip and correct things my wife is doing wrong. Nor do I feel it would work very well. I think I need to work on figuring out what Yeshua would have me do about my own thoughts, words, actions, inactions
