Pick Up The Slack

In every marriage, there are jobs that are his and jobs that are hers. Keep an eye on her jobs and take note of when she seems to be having trouble with them or is falling behind.

When this happens, step in and help. Don’t say anything about it or expect anything in return. Just do it. If she says something tell her you’re always ready to help when she needs it.

One response to “Pick Up The Slack”

  1. I’d like to take up all the slack,
    I really, really would
let my wife know I have her back
    if only, God, I could,
but that’s not how it works today,
for I am on the ropes,
and so much has gone away,
    including those high hopes,
but still, I do the things I can,
as small as they may be,
and though I may not feel ‘a man’
    there’s still a victory
that I can rest some laurels upon,
to watch my wife, and cheer her on.
