Because She’s Yours, Walk The Line

I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time
I keep you on my mind both day and night
Because you’re mine, I walk the line ~ Selected lyrics from I Walk The Line by Johnny Cash

Woman flirting with her colleague while working in the office

The man in black didn’t just pledge his love in that song, he told us how to be faithful. He watched his heart, lest it lead him astray, and kept his eyes open for temptations. He kept his wife on his mind all the time, to crowd out others.

Being proactive about being faithful greatly improves your chances of success. Have you ever heard someone say the adultery they committed “just happened”? I’m sure it seems that way to them, but that’s not how it works. Adultery is like a fly getting through a screen door – it requires a hole in the defences. If you check for holes regularly and deal with them as you see them, you won’t be surprised.

If you want to be faithful, keep a close watch on your mind, keep your eyes open, and think about your wife day and night. If you don’t do those things, you’re inviting infidelity.

A post worth reading:

PsyPost | The balance of power among couples appears to influence female sexual desire via relationship satisfaction ◄ Basically if you treat her like a person and value what she wants, she is more likely to want and enjoy sex.

  1. It just happened, so they say,
    we were merely swept along
    by lust’s current, swept away
    into the Sea of Wrong.
    We cannot be held to blame;
we tried, a little, to resist,
so please respect our burning shame
    that we did not desist,
and let us bask in victimhood,
for we were forced to act
by social mores that said we should
(watch Oprah; she’ll confirm the fact!).
Feel sorry for us, feel our pain,
so we may do it all again.

  2. Ascot says:

Big talk for someone (Johnny Cash) who later cheated on his wife, and abandoned her for another woman. He wrote a moving letter that he turned into a song to confirm his fidelity at the same time he was cheating with another woman.

    Talk is cheap.

May our actions greatly exceed our words.
