When I mention date night over on The XY Code, I usually get a comment that says “I wish” or “We had one two years ago.“
I know some men do a good job on this, but it seems the majority are somewhere between poor and total fail.
We keep our grandsons for a couple of hours every Sunday night to give their parents a break. My daughter-in-law calls it “date night” and makes sure everyone knows not to show up or call during that time. She looks forward to it all week. Occasionally we watch the kids longer so mom and dad can go out and we will do that more as the kids get older. But just two kid-free hours together at home is a big deal to the DIL. And, honestly, most wives would be jealous.
It might be over the top to suggest your wife needs this as much as you need sex, but perhaps only a bit over the top. It varies from woman to woman, but most need it and some are desperate for it and deeply hurt they don’t get it. If you love your wife, you need to find a way to make this happen or happen more often. Make the time, find the money, and give her what she wants and needs.
A side note: I can’t promise you more date nights will mean more sex, but I can tell you a lack of date nights reduces a woman’s interest in sex. So there is that.
