I’m a big fan of Gary Chapman’s Five Love Languages, but I feel he missed one.
CHOCOLATE
There are exceptions, but most women like chocolate a great deal and many of them consider it one of the basic food groups.

If your wife is in the majority, bless her with chocolate regularly. Buy some good quality chocolate and hide it away so you can give her a piece when life is rough. Or just randomly leave it for her. I wonder what message it sends to leave a piece in her underwear drawer?

I don’t really have a problem with “the five love languages book”, if it helps some people, that’s great. All the same, it is not really evidence-based, and is much too simplistic in my opinion— I think we are complex creatures who need all of those things but at different times in our lives, one or two of them might be especially needed.
@Tory – There has been some research on it, with mixed results. Most therapists et. al. who use it say it’s a tool, and a good one. But like any tool, it only works for certain things.

You are clearly a very wise man :) Chocolate makes many a woman’s world go round :)
