We have some funny and wise things stuck to a wall in our bathroom. This is one of them:
A mistake repeated more than once is a decision. ~ Paulo Coelho

I could go so many ways with this. For example, the man or woman in their fifth bad relationship/marriage who keeps connecting with the same kind of broken person. Or the guy who is always late and always has an excuse. How about the person who overdraws their account a couple of times a month?
For a more marriage related version, if you keep doing something that upsets your wife, or makes her feel bad, or puts her off sex, then you’re choosing to do something that you KNOW will end badly.
So the question is why do you do something that you know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, will end badly? What possesses you to do that? What hope, fear, or brokenness drives you to keep doing something that makes both of you miserable? What benefit do you get from what you do that is somehow worth the trouble it causes?
If you can answer why you do it, then you can stop doing it.
