The last three days I’ve told you how important time is and how much better our marriages are when we spend more time with our spouse.

With that in mind, why not give your wife the gift of your time for Valentine’s Day? I know it’s not the gift some women are dying for, but the majority would really like it and many would find it the best gift they ever received.
Making this work requires a long-term change, not just a nice day together. If you want to commit yourself, how about using our Love Coupons to give her some promises of time she can cash in when she likes. Give some reasonable guidelines so you don’t get hit when you’re up against a deadline at work. You could also tell her you’ll give her a two for one raincheck if you bow out without giving a really good reason. You could give a limit on the number of coupons used in a day, a week, or any other time period. (Writing up the exceptions may be an eye-opening exercise for you!)
Yes, you could get yourself backed into a corner with this – which is the point. If you’re not ready to change, and not ready to make sacrifices to change, this is a bad plan. If you want to bless your wife and have a better marriage this is a very daring plan!

Great idea, Paul, and I am sure that there are a LOT of men who are on their knees in thanksgiving that Super Bowl Sunday and Valentine’s Day are separated by a week.
